"Foire de la St Grégoire" - 4th and 5th September
2010
This is an annual fair which is organized
the 1st weekend of September every year. (St Gregory is Ernée's
patron saint). The aim of the Saint Grégoire Committee is to join
together the representatives of several associations. Various local
businesses and craftspeople take the opportunity to advertise their
products on the many different stalls throughout the town.
There are also exhibitions of the local hunts, classic and vintage
cars and bikes and, of course, the cattle show.

12 and 13 June 2010
French Elite Motocross Championship
This year Ernée is hosting the
5th round of the championship. Over 150 riders of MX1 and MX2
are expected to be taking part. Mickaël Pichon - champion in
both 2001 and 2002 - and the current leader, Marvin Musquin,
have both confirmed their entry.
The event starts at 11 o'clock on Saturday 12 with the rider's
briefing, and trials and racing commence at 12:35, continuing
until 18:35. Racing on Sunday is from 9:15 to 18:05 with a lunch
break from 11:35 to 13:30. The Podium is scheduled for 18:10.
Entry on Saturday is free and 17 euros pre-booked on the Sunday.
Under 14 year olds have free entry for the whole weekend.
There are only 2 more rounds after this to decide the final
placings, so competition should be fierce.
After a break in 2008, World Championship Motocross returned
to Ernée in 2009 with the running of the Men's World Individual
Championships in MX1 and MX2 together with Women's World Championships.
The event was held on 6 and 7 June. Results for past events
can be found on the bikers page
as well as pictures from the final world championship event
of 2006 held in Ernée.

Tour de France 2010
The 97th Tour de France is being held this year from
July 3rd to July 26th. Starting at Rotterdam and finishing
at the Champs Elysée in Paris, it consists of 20 stages
and covers 3 600 kilometres. Although the closest point
to Ernée this year will be Bordeaux, the peleton and,
of course, the caravane, are well worth travelling to
see.
In 2006, the Tour actually came through Ernée and the
town was closed to traffic for the whole afternoon,
ensuring a safe view of the awesome spectacle, with
a real carnival atmosphere.
